This was stated by Swedish Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard on the sidelines of the EU Foreign Affairs Council meeting on 20 November, according to a correspondent for European Pravda in Brussels.
Sweden has pointed out that the European Union spends more money on imports from russia than on support for Ukraine.
‘The truth is that support for Ukraine (from the EU – EP) is not large enough, and support for russia is too large,’ Stenegaard said.
She reported that since the full-scale invasion, European countries and Europe have supported Ukraine with €187 billion.
"During the same period, we imported Russian oil and gas worth €201 billion. And if we add other imported goods, the total amount is €311 billion. This means that we are providing negative support to Ukraine in the amount of €124 billion,‘ the Swedish minister said indignantly and showed journalists the corresponding graph.
’This is nothing short of a disgrace," she stressed.
She believes that ‘there will be no reasonable peace talks unless we increase our support for Ukraine and pressure on russia.’
‘A very good start would be to use frozen assets for the benefit of Ukraine,’ Maria Malmer Stenergard stressed.
