Latvia appeals against lifting of EU sanctions against russian oligarchs Aven and Friedman

Latvia has filed an appeal against the decision of the Court of Justice of the European Union, which lifted sanctions against russian billionaires Petr Aven and Mikhail Fridman.

This was reported by the Ministry of Justice of Latvia.

The EU Court of Justice is currently “assessing whether the appeal is admissible”. The decision of the Court of Justice of the European Union can be appealed by both the EU Council and the EU state.

Latvia called on the EU Council to appeal, but its legal service and most member states recommended against it.
