This was reported by the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, writes ‘European Pravda’.
In total, within the framework of the ERA instrument, the Ministry of Finance has already attracted 14 billion euros from the European Union, out of the planned 18.1 billion euros.
It is expected that Ukraine will receive the remaining funds from the EU by the end of 2025.
The funds raised may be directed towards priority state budget expenditures in the social and military spheres and towards reconstruction.
"Since February 2022, the European Union has been the largest provider of direct budgetary assistance to Ukraine, amounting to €62.5 billion. ERA funds have become an important tool for meeting budgetary needs in 2025," said Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko.
It was later reported that the European Union expects that €2 billion of the €4 billion transferred to Ukraine from the EU on Wednesday, 1 October, will be invested in drones.
This was announced by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on 1 October in Copenhagen, before the start of the informal summit of the European Council, according to European Pravda.
The European Commission is convinced that Ukraine should invest €2 billion in the production of drones.
‘When it comes to Ukraine, if we all agree that Ukraine is our first line of defence, we must strengthen our military support for Ukraine. That is why we are allocating €4 billion to Ukraine today,’ von der Leyen said.
‘€2 billion of this amount will be invested in drones,’ she specified.
