Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kęstutis Mačerkevičius said that the 18th package of European Union sanctions should “hit the aggressor where it really hurts.”
He announced this on social media platform X.
“Deception, disruption, distraction, and delay are Putin's tactics to avoid sanctions and responsibility. Europe must break this vicious circle. The 18th package of sanctions must hit the aggressor where it really hurts,” Budrys wrote.
The Lithuanian foreign minister stressed that sanctions must target Russia's most vulnerable sectors: energy, liquefied natural gas, oil, nuclear fuel, and the financial sector.
