The British government has announced 150 new trade sanctions against Russia aimed at restricting access to technology and innovative software used in the military and energy sectors. The restrictions apply, in particular, to electronics, chemicals, machinery and metals, as well as software for exploring new oil and gas fields.
Junior Minister Stephen Doughty stressed that these measures are intended to cut off Russia's energy revenues and weaken the financing of the war against Ukraine. The new package of restrictions takes effect immediately.
