In particular, 18 ships of the Russian shadow fleet were added to the sanctions list.

It is noted that the new restrictions will affect 100 sanctioned targets in the military, energy, and financial sectors of the Russian Federation, as well as those waging an information war against Ukraine.

The new restrictions were imposed on organizations that support the Russian military machine, energy exports, and the information war, as well as financial institutions that help finance Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

In addition, sanctions were imposed on the supply chains of Russian weapons systems, including Iskander missiles.

“This will protect the lives of Ukrainians and our collective security by disrupting Russia's military machine,” the British government said.

Today's sanctions also target 14 more members of Russia's “Social Design Agency,” which carries out Kremlin-funded information operations “aimed at undermining the sovereignty, democracy, and rule of law in Ukraine and around the world,” the statement said.

It is noted that today's measures by Britain will hit Russian dictator Vladimir Putin's attempts to circumvent sanctions and help block his failed attempts to reconnect with the international economy.

In addition, 46 financial institutions that help Russia evade sanctions, as well as the St. Petersburg Stock Exchange and the Russian Deposit Insurance Agency, which insures Russian banks, have been targeted.

“These new sanctions will further isolate the Russian economy and disrupt Russia's revenue streams,” the British government said.
