On 4 April 2025, the High Anti-Corruption Court upheld a lawsuit filed by the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine against Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska and RUSAL, imposing sanctions in the form of asset forfeiture to the state. The court ruled to recover more than 440,000 tonnes of bauxite and 110,000 tonnes of alumina, worth more than UAH 2 billion.
These assets belonged to RS International GmbH, a Swiss company controlled by the sanctioned persons. In addition, the right to claim under the tolling agreement, under which the bauxite was imported into Ukraine, was recovered from the state budget. The decision was made possible thanks to the cooperation of interagency bodies, including the Security Service of Ukraine.
