Ukraine will receive another €2.1 billion in aid from the European Union, which will come from the proceeds of the frozen assets of the Russian Central Bank. This is the second tranche of such assistance. The European Commission has confirmed that although the assets of the Russian Central Bank remain frozen, their income is used to support Ukraine.

The funds will be channelled through the European Peace Facility and the Fund for Ukraine to strengthen the country's defence and reconstruction. In the future, further tranches will be used to secure the repayment of funds under the G7's $50 billion loan initiative.
