US and Cyprus sign agreement to combat evasion of Russian sanctions

The United States and Cyprus said they will formalise their cooperation in fighting money laundering, sanctions evasion and other financial crimes in a deal that offers Cypriot law enforcement agencies US expertise.

The FBI and the Cypriot police will sign the agreement in the coming days. The US Department of Justice is offering assistance in the ‘proactive detection, investigation and prosecution of financial crime cases’ in Cyprus, according to a joint statement.
