US President Donald Trump has signed an executive order extending for a year the sanctions against Russia imposed in April 2021 for the Russian government's harmful foreign activities and extended in March 2022 following Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Executive Order 14024, signed in April 2021, declared a national emergency that allows for the imposition of sanctions against individuals and entities that pose a threat to the US national security and economy.
