Lithuania proposes new sanctions package against Russia, while previous one has not yet been adopted

Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kęstutis Mačerkevičius said that discussions on the 17th package of sanctions against Russia are continuing in the European Union. At the same time, Lithuania is already initiating discussions on the 18th package of restrictions.
According to the minister, sanctions against Russia are not being used effectively enough, Channel 24 reported, citing the minister's statement.
In his opinion, it is necessary not only to adopt a new package, but also to introduce additional tariff sanctions on Russian goods.
Kęstutis Budrys stated that Russian energy companies are still filling Russia's budget, and this must be stopped. He called for a ban on liquefied gas imports into the EU and noted that the US could assist in this step.
