China condemns Ukrainian sanctions against Chinese companies for supporting russia

This was announced by a spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry at a briefing on 28 July.

‘China, as always, opposes unilateral sanctions that have no basis in international law or are authorised by the UN Security Council. We urge the Ukrainian side to immediately correct its mistake and eliminate the negative impact. China will resolutely defend the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese companies,’ said Guo Jiaqun.

On 27 July, Ukrainian President Zelensky introduced sanctions synchronised with the EU's 18th package of sanctions against russia. The sanctions target companies and individuals that supply russia with dual-use goods for the military-industrial complex.
