Chinese company cancels tanker construction after suspicions of circumventing US sanctions

This was announced by the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak.

According to him, the agreements were signed by three subsidiaries of Yangzijiang. The buyer is suspected of using the company to evade US restrictions.

Construction of one of the tankers has already begun, with an advance payment of approximately $22.5 million.

‘I am grateful to the US for the sanctions. They are working and will definitely have an impact on buyers of russian energy resources if this industry is hit,’ Yermak wrote.
