On August 10, at a meeting in Riga, Latvian Minister of Justice Inese Libini-Egneri and Estonian Minister of Justice Kalli Lanet agreed to cooperate on confiscation of Russian property in support of Ukraine.
During the discussion, the key issues were the concentration of efforts to improve the justice sector in Ukraine, namely the development of new legal instruments that could help in the confiscation of Russian assets, in cases of alimony and increasing the number of qualified personnel in the legal sector.
The Latvian minister emphasized that Estonia and Latvia have similar goals in the development of the justice sector, which may be useful in developing a common strategy of action at the European Union level.
