As explained by Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna, the government's decision to import isobutane from russia and Belarus is related to EU sanctions adopted in December 2024.
‘Ways were found to circumvent customs declarations using this butane to continue importing the same liquefied gas from russia and Belarus,’ he said.
The head of the Estonian Foreign Ministry added that Estonia seeks to implement a similar decision at the European Union level.
