During a discussion on the use of frozen russian assets, Estonia proposed that not only interest income, but all assets should be used for Ukraine's defense.
This was stated by Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tahkna.
"The income is only a small but important step for us. But we also want to use the frozen assets ourselves," he said.
The minister criticized the fact that EU countries do not want to touch these funds.
"I do not understand how politicians who want to be re-elected want to explain this to their taxpayers."
Tsakhkna also dismissed the legal concerns previously raised by other countries.
"I am convinced that it is legally possible to transfer frozen russian assets to Ukraine. What is missing in Europe now is the political will," he said.
