Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tahkna said that the EU's tightening of sanctions against Belarus would prevent russia from evading them.

The foreign minister said that after these restrictions came into force on July 1, it will be much more difficult to evade sanctions against russia.

According to him, additional sanctions against Belarus are better tied to restrictive measures against russia than before.

"This reduces russia's ability to gain access to a number of goods that russia needs on the battlefield in its aggression against Ukraine with the help of Belarus," Tsakhkna said.

The foreign minister admitted that although the EU imposed broad sanctions on russia, Moscow still received the materials it needed for the war through Belarus.
