Five people sentenced in Germany for violating sanctions against russia

Five individuals were charged with violating the Foreign Trade Act by exporting electrical components and laboratory equipment to russia between 2022 and 2024.
According to the indictment, the defendants included the head, shareholder and employee of a Hamburg-based company who, together with other defendants, organised, carried out and concealed illegal deliveries to russia and their payment.
Among other things, they sold electrical circuits, plugs and amplifiers, as well as laboratory centrifuges to russia. One of the routes that allowed them to evade sanctions against Moscow was Hong Kong.
The five defendants were sentenced to various terms ranging from six months' probation to four and a half years' imprisonment. The court also ordered the confiscation of more than €900,000 in criminal proceeds.
