French President Emmanuel Macron said that the European community will intensify the fight against russia's so-called “phantom fleet” and its cyberattacks.
Also, at a press conference after the summit of the European Political Community in the UK, the French leader promised that support for Ukraine would grow.
“I want to support the call of Prime Minister Starmer (UK Prime Minister), who brought together about forty members of the European political community, to step up our actions against the so-called ‘phantom fleet’, that is, vessels that allow russia to evade EU sanctions,” Macron emphasized.
The “phantom fleet” refers to russian tankers that transport oil to circumvent European sanctions. Earlier, as part of the 14th package of sanctions, the European Union adopted specific restrictions against some ships of this fleet.
