Last week, the French Customs Investigation Department conducted searches at a company registered in the northern suburb of Paris, Saint-Saint-Denis, which allegedly specialized in exporting sanctioned goods to russia. This was reported by the French Ministry of Economy and Finance.
According to law enforcement officials, over the past year, the company filed hundreds of false customs declarations and thus concealed the transportation of goods to russia worth several tens of millions of euros.
The goods themselves could have been in some other EU country, and the final buyer was disguised by false declarations.
It is suspected that dozens of unscrupulous European exporters were able to continue trading with russia through this company. In addition, it allegedly directly offered such a turnkey sanctions circumvention service on the so-called darknet.
European partners helped the French expose the illegal scheme.
