Frozen russian assets in Germany amount to €3.9 billion

To date, Germany has frozen 3.9 billion euros worth of russian assets, which is almost a billion less than last year.

 

This was announced at a briefing by the spokesperson for the German Ministry of Finance, Uta Hartmann.

 

“At present, russian assets in the amount of 3.9 billion euros have been frozen in Germany,” Hartmann said.

 

She explained that the money, real estate, yachts and other property belonging to individuals and legal entities are involved.

 

The spokeswoman noted that last year the amount was almost a billion more, and explained that the EU had removed certain individuals from the sanctions lists.

 

Last year, the Ministry of Finance estimated the frozen assets of the russian federation at 5.25 billion euros. 

 

As reported, Germany is in favor of using the proceeds of frozen russian assets in favor of Ukraine.
