Germany has sentenced a man with dual German-russian citizenship to six years and nine months in prison for selling electronics to Russian companies despite sanctions.

The 59-year-old man delivered 120,000 components to russia that could have been used for military purposes between January 2020 and May 2023.

The court in Stuttgart stated that the components the man was transporting were used in the Orlan-10 drone.

The court decision says that since the beginning of russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the man wanted to disguise sales to russian companies. To do this, he used documents that indicated Hong Kong and Turkey as the destinations of the electronics.

The court did not name the man, but said he “confessed to the crime and repented”. He also had a 54-year-old “partner” who received a shorter sentence.
