German prosecutors are investigating a car dealer who sold luxury cars to russia in violation of sanctions.
An independent car dealer sold and exported several luxury cars worth more than EUR 4 million to russia despite the export embargo.
According to the Customs Investigation Office and the prosecutor's office, the head of the car dealership in Königswinter near Bonn pretended to legally export the cars to third countries.
He is currently under investigation on suspicion of violating the Foreign Trade Act.
At the end of September, investigators conducted two searches and collected evidence.
They also seized two luxury cars as part of an asset seizure, the statement said. The investigation is ongoing.
