Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said that his government intends to develop cooperation with russia in sectors of the economy that are not subject to sanctions restrictions imposed by the European Union.
The Hungarian minister made the statement at a briefing following a regular meeting of the foreign ministers of the Visegrad countries (Poland, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Hungary) in Prague.
"In those sectors where there are no sanctions... on a pragmatic basis, where it meets our national interests, we would like to develop cooperation with russia," the Hungarian foreign minister said.
According to Szijjarto, some other Western countries also carry out a similar practice, but sometimes they do not publicize it.
"Many European and transatlantic countries are doing this: some covertly, some openly," the Hungarian minister said.
