IMF names conditions for confiscation of russian assets

The confiscation of frozen russian assets must have a solid legal basis and not affect the stability of the international monetary system.

This position was voiced by Julia Kozak, Director of the IMF's Communications Department, at a press briefing in Washington.

"Decisions on asset seizure should be made by the relevant authorities and jurisdictions of the country," the IMF representative said.

She also emphasized that it is important for the IMF "that any actions have sufficient legal basis and do not undermine the functioning of the international monetary system."
