Finnish court investigates businessman Gabriel Temin for violating sanctions regime

On September 18, the Eastern Uusimaa District Court in Finland imprisoned businessman Gabriel Temin on suspicion of exporting defense equipment to Russia.
Last week, the US sanctions list included the Finnish companies Siberica and Luminor, whose CEO is Gabriel Temin. The companies supplied foreign electronic products to Russia, such as cameras used in drones, efficient optical filters and lithium batteries.
According to the U.S. Treasury Department, the new sanctions target organizations that seek to allow Russia to acquire advanced technology and dual-use products. That is, products suitable for both civilian and military use.
Hannu Sinkkonen, Director of Customs in Finland, reports that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukrainian territory, about 600 cases have been opened in Finland for violating sanctions.
