There is no major movement at the international level to confiscate russian assets in favor of Ukraine.

This was stated by former US Special Representative for Ukraine Kurt Volker.

According to him, the United States has a relatively small amount of russian assets. The official is not sure that it will be able to fully approve the confiscation of this money.

"Even if both the Senate and the House of Representatives approve it, I'm not sure that the administration (White House - ed.) will approve it, although they've been talking about it more often lately," Volker said.

He noted that there are other G7 countries. In addition, the Belgian financial company Euroclear holds most of the russian assets, and that they are "reluctant to seize these russian assets."

"I hope that the pressure on them will increase so that they eventually seize these assets. But so far it's been very reluctant," Kurt Volker said.
