This was reported by Delfi with reference to the regulator's decision.

NEPLP made this decision based on a letter from another state institution that analysed the content of the blocked resources. The document states that the content of these websites is contrary to the interests of Latvia's national security and information space.

These are websites that:
provide biased information about Russia's war against Ukraine;
generate public support for the actions of the Russian military;
legitimise the occupation of Ukrainian territories;
post propaganda materials to recruit soldiers for the Russian army.

The NEPLP emphasised that such information activities could undermine social cohesion, worsen inter-ethnic relations and distort values.
