Latvian security service wants prosecutions over alleged russia sanctions breaches

The VDD actually made the request to the Prosecution Office on 17th September, two weeks ago, after a criminal case against the unnamed individuals was launched on 22nd January of this year.

''Information acquired by VDD indicates that the individuals violated the EU sanctions in relation to providing project management services to companies registered in russia,'' said the VDD.

'During the investigation, VDD found that the individuals own shares in a russian company that deals with project management and organisation. In the period of 2022 to 2025, this company has organised at least 5 events (forums) that took place in Moscow,'' said the security service.
