The Vilnius District Prosecutor's Office has submitted to the court a case in which a resident of the Lithuanian capital is accused of smuggling weapons to russia and violating international sanctions against russia.
The prosecutor's office filed charges against the 47-year-old man and his company, which in 2019-2021 was engaged in the transportation of weapons, their parts and ammunition to and from russia via Kyrgyzstan.
The data collected during the investigation allows us to reasonably believe that the accused, without indicating the actual country of final destination in the customs declarations, exported 406 firearms, 16 firearm parts and more than 500 thousand rounds of ammunition from the EU to Kyrgyzstan, knowing that these goods would be transferred to companies and individuals in russia.
The investigation believes that the suspect provided documents that deliberately failed to indicate the identification data of the weapons, indicating the country of purchase, to obtain permits for the sale of weapons, their parts, and ammunition.
