This was announced by Moldovan Energy Minister Dorin Junghiu on Facebook.

Jungiatu stated that Lukoil will not be able to supply petrol, diesel and jet fuel from 21 November 2025 due to US sanctions imposed in October. Washington has frozen the company's accounts and assets and refused to allow it to sell its business to Swiss company Gunvor.

According to him, the Council for the Examination of Investment and Foreign Assets (CEIISS) rejected Lukoil's proposal to sell the airport infrastructure to another company due to risks to national security.

Instead, the government offered to buy out the company's warehouse and resources to ensure stable supplies. The deadline for the decision is 17 November.

The minister also noted that Moldova is joining the American sanctions, but at the same time is asking Washington to temporarily allow the company to operate in order to avoid disruptions in supply.

In addition, the country is negotiating with Romania and Bulgaria for alternative fuel supplies.
