The New Zealand authorities have imposed additional sanctions on 28 individuals and 14 legal entities that provide military and strategic support to russia's invasion of Ukraine.

“russia, with the direct support of its military-industrial complex, is carrying out an illegal aggression against Ukraine, attempting to violate its sovereignty and territorial integrity,” the statement reads.

According to the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs, restrictions have been imposed on individuals and companies involved in the transfer of weapons from the DPRK to russia, as well as Iranian entities involved in providing military assistance to Moscow.

The sanctions also target those who facilitate the forced relocation of Ukrainian children to russia and the occupied territories of Ukraine.

“By continuing to facilitate the deportation of Ukrainian children, russia is seeking to achieve its goal of invading Ukraine, including efforts to undermine Ukraine's identity,” Peters said.

Since the start of the full-scale invasion, New Zealand has imposed sanctions on more than 1,700 individuals and entities, as well as a number of trade restrictions.
