This was reported by Delfi with reference to the Lithuanian Ministry of Finance.
This issue was discussed by Lithuanian Finance Minister Kristupas Vaitekunas and European Commissioner for Financial Services and the Savings and Investment Union Maria Luisa Albuquerque.
Vaitiekunas stressed that EU countries should strengthen measures against Belarus, ‘bringing them into line with existing sanctions against russia and introducing additional restrictions.’
According to Albuquerque, the process of preparing new measures against Belarus is still in its early stages.
‘We are working with third countries, as some of them are facilitating the circumvention of sanctions,’ the European Commissioner clarified.
