The EU plans to ban imports of russian LNG

This was stated by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
According to her, the bloc is increasing economic pressure on russia, and sanctions are yielding results — russia's GDP is projected to slow from 4.3% in 2024 to 0.9% in 2025.
On 18 September, European Commission spokeswoman Anna-Kaisa Itkonen said that the EU is considering replacing russian liquefied natural gas (LNG) with American LNG. This is part of the EU's strategy to completely abandon russian energy sources.
