This was announced by European Commission Vice-President Kaja Kallas on social media platform X.

‘We will continue to put pressure on Moscow to end the war in Ukraine. Every sanction weakens Russia's ability to wage war,’ Kaja Kallas said.

The extension of sanctions was agreed by EU ambassadors through a written procedure. A political agreement was reached at the summit on 26 June. The following day, the ambassadors approved this decision as a non-negotiable item and immediately launched the written procedure.

The written procedure lasted until 11 a.m. on 30 June. All 27 EU member states signed it.
