The Ministry of Justice filed a lawsuit to the HACCU to impose sanctions on Usmanov and his accomplices

The Ministry of Justice of Ukraine has filed a lawsuit with the High Anti-Corruption Court to impose a sanction in the form of asset forfeiture to the state against Alisher Burkhanov, Andrey Vladimirovich Skoch, Vladimir Nikolayevich Skoch, Varvara Andreevna Skoch, and Vladimir Yanovich Streshinsky.

 

Alisher Usmanov is a russian businessman and oligarch, ranked 8th in the 2023 russian billionaires' list with a net worth of $14.4 billion. Usmanov owns the media resource Kommersant, which takes a pro-Kremlin position and provides ideological support for the actions of the aggressor state.

 

Also, A.B. Usmanov is the founder of the USM Group and, together with A.V. Skoch, V.M. Skoch, V.A. Skoch and V.Y. Stershinsky, exercise a decisive influence on the activities of the group and subsidiaries operating in strategic sectors of the russian economy - metallurgy and mining, telecommunications and digital technologies, including Metalloinvest and Megafon.

 

The defendants, through the USM Group, provide significant assistance to the russian federation in the conduct of the aggressive war, which is expressed in financing, through the payment of taxes and fees to the state budget of the aggressor state, in logistics, through the supply of telecommunications services to law enforcement agencies and military units of the armed forces of the russian federation, which are directly involved in hostilities on the territory of Ukraine and information assistance to the armed aggression against Ukraine by spreading narratives of russian propaganda.
