British Foreign Secretary David Cameron called on his G7 colleagues to confiscate russian assets so that they could be used as reparations for Ukraine's recovery. British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak supported this idea and called on the West to act boldly in the issue of confiscating russian assets.

The plans outlined by Sunak include the seizure and transfer to Ukraine of interest accruing on russian assets before legal means are found to recover the assets themselves, The Times writes.

It is noted that from a political point of view, the United States and the United Kingdom are in favor of confiscation, while Germany, France and Italy are strongly opposed.
