This was reported by the Office of the President.
The first decree imposes sanctions on seven russian citizens who work in Putin's government structures and are involved in looting in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. Among them are:
First Deputy Minister of Education of the russian federation Alexander Bugayov.
russian representative in negotiations with the United States and financier Kirill Dmitriev, who is close to the russian leader.
General Alexander Zorin, russia's representative in the negotiating group.
New head of the 5th FSB service Alexei Komkov.
russian Minister of Agriculture Oksana Lut.
Deputy Minister of Science Andriy Omelchuk.
In addition, this sanctions list includes Oleksandr Tupitsky, former head of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine, who was arrested in absentia in Ukraine in 2022 on charges of bribing a witness and giving knowingly false testimony. He is also suspected of illegally leaving the country.
The second decree imposes sanctions on five russian publishing houses that work to justify aggression, spread russian propaganda around the world, and instil anti-Ukrainian sentiments in the occupied territories of Ukraine.
‘We will work to ensure that these publishers cannot participate in international book fairs and that their products are removed from online sales platforms around the world,’ said Vladislav Vlasyuk, the president's representative on sanctions policy.
President Zelensky noted that russia is trying to ‘normalise’ the occupation, so, in his words, greater pressure from the world is needed on all sources of funding for the war.
