This was announced by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in his X on 6 November.

‘We are continuing to synchronise our partners' sanctions within Ukrainian jurisdiction, and as of today, the 19th package of EU sanctions against russia for this war comes into force in Ukraine,’ Zelenskyy said.

According to him, this package is ‘strong’ and acts, in particular, ‘against the export of russian resources and schemes for supplying electronic components to russia.’ The total impact of the 19th package on restrictions on russian earnings is estimated at least in the tens of billions of euros annually.

In addition, the president announced the application of new Ukrainian sanctions ‘against russian entities that work to extract resources in the Arctic and, as a result, finance russia's ability to wage war.’ Zelensky noted that Ukraine expects ‘our partners to continue this sanction measure.’

The head of state also said that he had instructed the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine to prepare new decisions regarding:

entities involved in russian propaganda;

entities involved in military production;

collaborators.

Zelensky also announced a sanctions response to russian sanctions against the Prime Minister of Ukraine and other government officials.

‘Of course, russian sanctions, unlike international sanctions, do not create real problems, but... any russian escalations, including propaganda, deserve an appropriate and tangible response,’ he stressed.
