The United Kingdom has spent over £1 billion (nearly $1.36 billion) on supplying weapons and military support to Ukraine, using funds obtained from frozen Russian assets.

With this funding, the UK purchased artillery ammunition, air defense missiles, drones, spare parts, and other equipment needed to maintain and repair Ukraine’s military hardware.

“The UK is stepping up military support to help Ukraine defend itself against Putin’s illegal invasion, while also working to secure peace for tomorrow through the ‘Coalition of the Willing,’” reads the UK government’s website.

Over the past 50 days, the United Kingdom has delivered to Ukraine:

  • 4.7 million rounds of small arms ammunition;

  • 60,000 artillery shells, rockets, and munitions;

  • more than 2,500 drones;

  • over 200 electronic warfare systems;

  • 100 units of light weaponry;

  • 30 vehicles;

  • additional equipment for countering drones and strengthening air defense.

This year, the United Kingdom will spend £4.5 billion on military support for Ukraine, including £2.26 billion provided as a loan through the Accelerated Extraordinary Revenue Fund, to be repaid with proceeds from frozen Russian assets.
