Volodymyr Zelensky imposes sanctions against russian museum directors

Among those subject to sanctions are the management of the following museum institutions: the State Borodino Military History Museum-Reserve, the russian Ethnographic Museum, the State Museum-Reserve Peterhof, the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts, the Central Museum of Old Russian Culture and Art named after Rublev, and others.
Some of these individuals are members of the governing bodies of the russian Museum Union and public structures that promote russia's occupation cultural policy.
‘russian museums are actively involved in the unprecedented theft of Ukrainian cultural heritage in the occupied territories. This is not only about the actual removal or accounting of museum valuables, but also about an attempt to completely erase Ukrainian cultural identity,’ said Acting Minister of Culture Tetiana Berezhna.
Suspilne reports that Zelenskyy has imposed sanctions against a total of 39 individuals and 23 companies located in russia and the occupied territories of Ukraine.
