Starmer was answering the question of what can be done to get russia to the negotiating table.

“The first is to increase Ukraine's military capabilities and new commitments have been put on the table this morning in this regard,” Starmer said.

The second, he said, is a set of sanctions against russia.

“We want to further strengthen sanctions. And we discussed this morning how much further we can go, including the issue of frozen assets,” he said.

At the same time, he emphasized the complexity of the issue of dealing with frozen assets.

“So we discussed further sanctions that have nothing to do with the assets that we will be moving forward with as a result of this morning's discussion, as well as continuing to discuss what else can be done with respect to the assets themselves,” Starmer said.
