Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsakhkna noted that there is a “new initiative” regarding Ukraine, but he is not able to disclose the details yet.
“We have one new initiative, which I can't make public yet, because we discussed it in the morning. What we can do next step quickly to support Ukraine, funds, military support, and frozen russian assets. I believe we can really make a decision. 300 billion. This is a lot of money,” he said.
In his opinion, now “reality bites, it's nothing new” and the EU's relations with the US are “very strong and remain very strong, but now they are different.”
“So we also have to stand up and realize that no one else will come to solve our problems in Europe. So we have to do it ourselves. Then the US will support us too. It's like... I don't want to use the word wake-up call - we've had such wake-up calls since 2008, when russia invaded Georgia. But I feel a different energy here in Europe as well,” he concluded.
