EU countries are preparing two new packages of sanctions against russia

According to journalists, the first package will target the shadowy fleet of tankers used by russia to deliver its oil.

Restrictions may be imposed on individuals involved in the trade, as several rounds of sanctions have already affected almost all tankers in putin's fleet. It is noted that member states continue to negotiate the details of the sanctions.

In addition, the EU is preparing a larger package of sanctions to be adopted early next year. It is planned to include further trade restrictions and additional duties on russian agricultural products.

“This package may be presented as early as January with a view to adopting it before the symbolic date of February 24, which will mark the third anniversary of russia's full-scale invasion,” the publication says.
