Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal expects to develop and approve a mechanism for the full confiscation of russian frozen assets in favor of Ukraine in 2025.
“Our goal this year is to develop and approve a mechanism for the full confiscation of russian frozen assets in favor of Ukraine. These funds should become the basis for financing Ukraine's recovery and resilience,” Shmyhal said at a government meeting on Friday.
The Prime Minister noted that the government has a clear understanding of how to pass 2025 in terms of finances and ensure all priority expenditures: pensions, wages and social support.
“This year, we expect funds from the EU under the Ukraine Facility, as well as from the IMF under our joint program. In addition, the G7 countries and the EU will allocate $50 billion to Ukraine, which will be secured by russian frozen assets,” he added.
