On January 27, 2025, the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine filed a lawsuit with the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court to impose a sanction under paragraph 1-1 of part one of Article 4 of the Law of Ukraine “On Sanctions” on Kirill Vyshynsky, a former Ukrainian journalist who was granted russian citizenship and became a mouthpiece for kremlin propaganda.

Vyshynsky systematically worked for the russian propaganda machine, in particular, in 2014-2018, as the head of RIA Novosti Ukraine, he organized the publication of materials aimed at justifying the temporary annexation of Crimea by russia and supporting the illegal armed groups “DPR” and “LPR”.

Currently, Vyshinsky is the executive director of the russian state media company rossiya segodnya, which includes, among other things, such propaganda resources as RIA Novosti and Ukraina.ru. In addition, on March 14, 2023, at the invitation of the russian delegation, he spoke at a meeting of the UN Security Council, during which he spread a russian propaganda narrative aimed at justifying a full-scale invasion of russia and identifying Ukraine with Nazism.

The Ministry of Justice declared assets directly owned by Vyshynskyi for recovery, namely: 2 real estate objects, 2 vehicles, as well as his shares in the authorized capital of Interselect LLC and Novostcom Expert LLC.

Filing a lawsuit to recover Vyshynskyi's assets is a logical continuation of the state's policy of bringing to justice those who deliberately work for enemy propaganda and harm the national interests of Ukraine. Anyone who supports the aggressor state and promotes its interests must be held accountable.

Earlier, the court upheld the claims of the Ministry of Justice to seize the assets of other pro-russian propagandists, including Yuriy Kot, Dmytro Kiselyov, Artemiy Lebedev and others. Their property, including luxury real estate, cars, and shares in businesses, was confiscated for the benefit of the Ukrainian state.
