U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken has announced that $50 billion will soon be transferred to Ukraine through frozen russian assets from the EU and the United States.
‘We have now been able to use frozen russian assets to provide $50 billion to Ukraine, which will be transferred in the coming weeks from both the United States and Europe, and which will provide Ukraine with financial support for some time next year,’ Blinken said at a press conference in Brussels.
He stressed that the allies continue to work to make sure that Ukraine has the money and resources it needs to support its economy and defence.
‘Ammunition, everything related to that, whether it's air defence, missiles, armour. We are working very hard to make sure that Ukraine has what it needs for many months to come. The United States is doing everything we can,’ Blinken said.
