“Over the past three years, the Netherlands has punished at least 70 companies and individuals for violating sanctions against russia. In addition, another 40 cases are currently under consideration,” the statement said.
It is noted that each microchip that did not get to russia means a decrease in the number of deaths in Ukraine.
According to the publication, the Fiscal Intelligence and Investigation Service has opened 30 cases. In six of them, the courts have already handed down sentences that include fines and imprisonment for up to 32 months. Other cases are under investigation or review.
In addition, 80 cases were initiated by customs. Of these, 64 were settled by agreement of the parties with fines ranging from €500 to €200 thousand.
The authorities could not name the exact number of those prosecuted and fined, as several companies and individuals may be involved in one case.
