Orban said that during Hungary's six-month EU presidency, the biggest goal was to make peace a “theme.” He emphasized that “significant progress has been made” in this regard, as “everyone is talking about peace” today.
“It is time to throw sanctions out the window and establish sanctions-free relations with russia,” he said.
According to the Hungarian prime minister, it will take time, but Brussels will be “sobered up,” and for now they are in a “binge stage.”
Orban said that peace is necessary to achieve the goals of Hungary's economic policy, and then “we will have to deal with Ukraine, which we are now looking at only through the ‘glasses of war’.”
The Hungarian said that Ukraine poses a serious economic threat to Europe, and therefore he will introduce serious protective measures to prevent, for example, damage to the Hungarian and Polish agricultural economies.
“We are talking about a country that cannot stand on its own two feet, and without Western money, it is not a country today,” Orban added.
