According to Ukrinform, this was reported by Yle.
According to the publication, this week the man admitted that he had purchased so-called dual-use goods — items that can be used for both civilian and military purposes — and, together with two other individuals, had transported them to russia.
The student also said that drones, laptops, computer processors, smartphones and laser rangefinders were taken across the eastern border.
The total value of the goods was almost €140,000.
As reported, the export of dual-use goods to russia is prohibited by European Union sanctions.
On Friday, 17 October, the russian was sentenced to one year and two months of suspended imprisonment.
The sentence was mitigated by the fact that the defendant cooperated with the investigation and admitted his guilt.
In addition, the young man was sentenced to confiscation in favour of the state of the processors, drone and €740 found in his possession, which were obtained by criminal means.
It is noted that the convicted man and two other students from the Kainuu Vocational College were detained in April in Kajaani during a large-scale police operation.
